From SCN/Mac user perspective there are numerous reasons why Safari would be better
- Firefox / Chrome are battery hogs. Apple has done a great job in the newer OS X releases in making Safari much better. It's not perfect however, but I try to avoid using other browsers for that reason when I'm not plugged in.
- Using Safari has easy integration with my other personal Apple Devices (iPhone, iPad ) in terms of my bookmarks, recent browsing, etc.
- It's the standard browser for the operating system which just happens to be supported by many other SAP solutions(look at the support.sap.com/pam )
Finally it's not like people are complaining that the primary browser on the Raspberry Pi doesn't work with SCN.
That being said this needs to be a non-issue when SAP switches to the upcoming new platform. It would be sad to see SAP spend so much time/effort launching an improved version of SCN and yet have it repeat the biggest mistake of the last SCN launch which was an unstable login process.
Take care,
Stephen
