Re: How to fix MULTIVALUE error on merged dimensions

Hi Daniel,

Please go through the below blog by Rogerio Plank, to understand how to use Merge Dimensions in case you don't have all the objects common to both (or more) queries.

Merging 3 Data Providers compatible 2 by 2

Few rules to keep in mind:

  1. Merge only those common objects from different queries that you NEED to show in one block (table/chart)
  2. Create DETAIL objects (for strings) for those which are not common and you NEED to show in the block (table/chart) with the other merged objects. Obviously associate them to the MERGED dimension object.
  3. As you said, its legitimate to get Multivalue error due to the data, decide what you want to do in such cases? May be show Max/Min of those multiple values. Again, create MEASURE objects for such variables as well and you'll have no problem in displaying them in the table/chart.

After doing what I said in bullets 1 and 2, the Datasync and Context errors should be gone.

Let us know how it goes.

Thanks,
Mahboob Mohammed
